Who is America’s Biggest Beer Geek? Me, apparently!
I am surprised and honored to have won the “Beer Blogger Geek” award in BrewDog’s 2018 Beer Geek Awards. I am even more surprised and even more honored to have also been given title “America’s Biggest Beer Geek” as the top winner of winners across the seven categories in the competition. I’m looking forward to the beer-y trips that are the prizes: to Denver for the 2018 Great American Beer Festival, AND to Brussels, Belgium, for general beer-related mayhem. Don’t worry, I’ll blog about it!
It is hard for me to believe that this little site I started not quite two years ago, in September 2016, is all grown up now and has an award. I started it mainly becaue I needed a hobby and had just moved to San Diego. It turns out blogging about my craft beer quest was an excellent way to get to know the city and county–I’ve been all over the place to visit the far-flung locales in which breweries and tasting rooms make their homes. I’ve had a lot of good beer–and some not so great beer. I’ve found places I would love to return to more often, and I’ll be able to now that I’m mostly done with the quest. (As of this writing, I’ve reviewed 195 places and have five left to go.)
